Make the Perfect Poutine with Mom’s Pantry

Every blue-blooded Canadian loves a good poutine, so why not include it in your upcoming fundraiser?  Your donors can collect all the essential ingredients to make this classic Canadian dish at home!

To create an authentic poutinerie for your donors, you need to include the right ingredients (As we all know, Canadians are very particular about the quality of their poutine).

Here’s how to make the perfect poutine with ingredients from Mom’s Pantry!

Cheese Curds

Cheese is the most important (and controversial) part of building a poutine. Squeaky cheese curds are the traditional choice, and you can find them in Mom’s Poutinerie!

Our cheese curds are made with fresh pasteurized milk and come straight from our partnered supplier in Bothwell, Manitoba. If your donors want authentic squeaky cheese, we’ll give it to them!

Gravy

Gravy—everyone’s favourite sauce! We stock a few different options for gravy at Mom’s Pantry that are ideal for creating an authentic poutine.

Your vegetarian patrons can enjoy our Montreal Poutine Sauce, which is made with an onion and garlic base. For the beef gravy crowd, you can find our Beef Gravy Base under Traditional Gravy & Soup Bases in our catalogue (we’ll let your donors decide which is the more authentic choice).

We also have gluten-free-certified onion and garlic Brown Gravy Base for donors with food sensitivities!

French Fries

French fries pull everything together in a good poutine! The crispiness of the fries combined with thick, saucy gravy and squeaky cheese create a delicious, savoury experience.

The fries should be crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. To achieve the perfect texture, make sure your donors know to deep fry our French Fries from Mom’s Poutinerie at 350°F (177°C).

“Off the Beaten Path” Poutine

In addition to our authentic poutine ingredients, we also have a couple other items in Mom’s Poutinerie for those who like to get experimental with this dish.

For more spice and bite, you can include our BBQ Style Poutine Sauce in your product line-up. For donors who prefer more stretch to their cheese, we also offer Shredded Cheddar Cheese.

Turn Your Poutinerie into A Side-Dish Diner

Poutine goes with so many things! If you want to give your donors more options for foods to choose from, here are a few other side dishes and appetizers they can mix and match:

  • Chicken Tender Strips
  • Chicken Wings Split
  • Popcorn Chicken
  • Italian Meatballs
  • Panzerotti Pizza Snacks
  • Assorted Pierogies
  • Mini Veggie Spring Rolls
  • Mini Chicken Spring Rolls
  • Vegetable Samosas with Tamarind Sauce
  • Garlic Breadsticks

You can find all these appetizers (and more!) by visiting our Shop.

Host a Poutinerie with Mom’s Pantry

If you’re looking for the ultimate Canadian fundraiser, encourage your donors to get out their deep fryers with a poutine-themed event! This theme is a great choice for sports teams, high schools, and community organizations that love their Canadian cuisine.

Visit Mom’s Poutinerie to find all the essentials, and check out the other appetizers in our catalogue for a more well-rounded option list.
